Daily Itinerary

Day 01
Arrive to LISBOA
Lodging:Hotel Lisboa Plaza
Day 02
This day will take you to some Highlights of the picturesque city of Lisboa. In the morning you will have ĕme visit to downtown Lisboa, for centuries downtown Lisboa has been the heart of the social, commercial and spiritual life of the city, as much as the center of power of Portugal. You will have the chance to visit this beauĕful city and enjoy the magnificent views towards the Tejo River. Visit some of the most important monuments, such as the Jerónimos Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage, as well as ĕme for shoping, tasĕng the famous “pastéis de belém” created before the 18th century by Catholic monks at the Jerónimos Monastery.
Transfer to São Luis (2h15)
Day 03
São Luís ­ Cercal do Alentejo ­ 21km
This is Rota Vicentina’s most mountainous section as well as a physically demanding one, with long ascent segments on harsh and irregular terrain. But you will be rewarded with breathtaking views over the plains and the Atlantic ocean, right from the top of the hills.

Day 04
Cercal do Alentejo ­ Porto Covo ­ 21km
This is the section connecting the Historical Way to the Fishermen’s Trail  on Rota Vicentina’s northern region, allowing the hiker to feel this area’s strong connection to the ocean, as you approach the coast line and Porto Covo, a picturesque fishermen’s village
Transfer to Herdade da Matinha (20min)

Day 05
Porto Covo ­ Vila Nova de Mil Fontes­ 22km
Transfer from Herdade da Matinha to Porto Covo (20min).
This is the beaches section, where you will walk along the vast sand dunes area of Ilha do Pessegueiro, Aivados and Malhão beaches and discover small deserted coves that will surprise you. It is a tiring walking day though, given its extension and the constant sandy terrain.
Day 06
Vila Nova de Milfontes ­ Zambujeira do Mar ­ 24 km
Transfer to the start of the trail (10 min)
This is a day to purify your soul thanks to the overwhelming views over Vila Nova de Milfontes and the Mira river that meets the ocean here. On the way to Zambujeira you will pass by small fishing harbours, reddish sand dunes, the scent of pine tree forests and the sight, seen nowhere else in the world, of storks nesting on the cliffs make this walk a true balm for your senses.
Day 07
Zambujeira do Mar ­ Brejão ­ 15km
You will be passing the beaches of Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados and Amália. Along this stretch of coast it is interesting to take a close look at the cliffs; note how the sedimentary rocks that were laid down horizontally over aeons have been folded and pushed out of all recognition so that what was once horizontal is now in some cases vertical.
Day 08
Brejão ­ Odeceixe beach loop ­ 22km
Today you will pass by the natural fishing harbour of Azenha do Mar and will enjoy one of the most outstanding views in the entire territory: Odeceixe beach seen from the majestic Ponta em Branco. The mouth of the river Seixe is a treat for the eye. After revitalizing the gardens and meadows through which it gently flows, the water from Monchique spills abundantly into the ocean.
